Are You Tired Of Workout Wedgies?

Monday, March 3rd, 2008 at 3:30 pm

boyshorts.jpg

I personally can’t stand the look of panty lines when I’m working out. Not to mention, the deeper the squat, the deeper the wedgie. However, if you forgo the underwear to try to avoid the workout wedgie, you run the risk of my worst gym fear - embarrassing wet spots in places that I’ll leave unnamed.

So, what’s a girl to do? - Try boy shorts. They provide better butt coverage so they won’t ride up. Also, the new seamless designs of boy shorts stay close to the skin, so they eliminate any unsightly panty lines. Shape magazine recommends the Seamless Starter from, Hot Chillys ($20). Try a pair today and squat away, wedgie free!

Guess Whose Working Out?

Monday, March 3rd, 2008 at 2:05 pm

1joshduhamelworkingout.jpg

Josh Duhamel was photographed working out at the track this weekend with his celebrity trainer. (I really need one of those.) This former fashion model and star of “Las Vegas”, who is currently dating Fergie, stays in shape by running.

Josh developed his habit for pounding the pavement in preparation for his 2006 movie, Turistas .

“The working out began because more or less I knew what I was getting into as far as the physical demands that this movie was going to have, because just reading it was like, ‘Okay, now we’re running through the jungle, we’re swimming, we’re climbing, we’re jumping off a waterfall.’ I wanted to be able to last the whole movie and not be completely exhausted by the time we were done, which sort of worked. But by the time we were done, I was so beat and ready to go home that I don’t know how much preparation I could have done. But yeah, there was definitely some training, especially a lot of running and underwater swimming and stuff before we left.”

Based on these photographs of Josh, he is definitely my favorite FitCeleb of the day!

Be A Part Of The RAWvolution

Monday, March 3rd, 2008 at 1:00 pm

TheRawFoodDiet

I must confess, when I initially heard of the Raw Food Diet the first word that came to mind was - tapeworm. But, after I learned of how popular this diet was in Hollywood, I gave it a second chance. After all, stars like Alicia Silverstone, Natalie Portman, Susan Sarandon, Cher, Uma Thurman, and super model Carol Alt are all huge fans of this unique approach to eating.

What’s The Skinny On The Raw Food Diet?

It is a weight loss plan that is based on eating unprocessed and uncooked foods. The vegan version of the diet includes fresh fruit and vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, dried fruit, and seaweed. The non-vegan version of the diet includes raw fish, raw meats, eggs and dairy products. According to About.com, the basic premises of the diet is that heating food above 116 degrees F is believed to destroy enzymes in food that can assist in the digestion and absorption of food.

Proponents of the diet claim that it leads to increased energy, improved skin appearance, better digestion, weight loss, and reduced risk of heart disease. Well, I can definitely see how you could lose weight on this diet. However, it seems like the Raw Food Diet would require a major change of lifestyle, I don’t know if I have the discipline to handle it. However, if you a ready for a big change that can deliver big weight loss results, then continue reading to learn more about the specific guidelines of this diet.

What Gets Ali Larter Moving?

crystal-drive-nike-plus-run.jpg

We all know that last week Ali Larter jetted off to Paris for Fashion Week, but what you might not have known is that while there she went on her daily three mile run.

“This is a nonnegotiable. I don’t think about it, I just do it. I never, ever miss my workout. Never!” - Ali Later, Shape Magazine.

What keeps this FitCeleb moving each morning during her run? Ali listens to Drive: Nike+ Original Run ($10) by The Crystal Method. I purchased this track yesterday from iTunes and all I have to say is “Wow!” - the melodies, beats, and lyrics keep you moving throughout this 45 minute mix. Who needs a cup of Java, just listen to this track and you’ll have plenty of energy and motivation to finish up your workout. The tempo of the track begins at a slower pace that takes you through a gradual warm up, then it increases pace over the course of the run, and finally it gradually decreases tempo as part of the cool down.

Crystal Method’s Scott Kirkland said:

“It’s a challenge because usually when we create music, we’re focused on what we like and what our fans will like. We’re not accustomed to thinking about a particular activity that has to go with the music. For this project, we thought about the movement and the energy that goes into exercising and running and the sort of goal-oriented activity that goes along with working out. When I’ve worked out…it’s always about goals: ‘I’m doing the uphill now, I’ve got four minutes until I get to the goal.’ So we created songs that have a lot of dynamic motion to them, songs that go places.” - ProgressiveSounds.com

So the next time you need some motivation to getting moving, try Ali’s secret weapon: Drive: Nike+ Original Run ($10) by The Crystal Method available at iTunes.
