Kathleen Robertson Snorkels Her Way To Fit Mama-hood

Kathleen Robertson Snorkels Her Way To Fit Mamahood1

Kathleen Robertson, from 90210 and The Business, was photographed snorkeling while on vacation in Hawaii over the past weekend. The 34 year old actress and her husband are expecting their first child. There has been no official press release regarding the due date, but rumor has it that Kathleen is in her third trimester. With that said, I give this fit mama credit for wearing that bathing suit. I normally dread swimsuit season, forget about wearing one in my third trimester!

Kathleen is a great example of “the secret” to why so many celebrities are fit; they incorporate exercise into their daily activities. A good workout doesn’t have to be an hour on the treadmill in the gym. Instead, try to have fun with your workout routine. Take Kathleen for example, instead of lying around on the beach she maximized her exercise. Snorkeling is an exciting outdoor activity that lets you burn up to 300-350 calories per hour. (But my favorite part of snorkeling is that it helps you tan the back of your legs!) So the next time your on vacation, put down that strawberry daiquiri and pick up your fins!

Quinoa - The New Superfood

Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at 3:00 pm

 quinoa

Quinoa has been around for centuries.  Unfortunately, until it hit Hollywood I had no clue about it.  Stars like Stacy Keibler and many more have been known to eat this Superfood.

Pronounced KEEN-wah, this hearty grain is being touted as the newest superfood and it’s easy to see why. Rich in protein, with only a few carbohydrates and a bit of healthy fats, quinoa is nutritionally superior to rice, corn, and wheat. It’s easy to prepare and can be served in a variety of ways from a dessert dish to breakfast cereal.

Packed with protein, loaded with fiber, and older than Peru, quinoa is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet.

Niky Hilton Denies Eating Disorder Rumors

Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at 2:00 pm

Nicky_Hilton-Nicholai_By_Nicky_Hilton_Fall_2008_fashion_show_Backstage1.jpg

There has been significant chatter on the internet lately about Nicky Hilton’s dramatic weight loss. Based on some of the more recent pictures of this Hollywood socialite, people have been speculating that she has developed an eating disorder. Well, Nicky recently fought back during an interview backstage at her 2008 fashion show:

There’s no truth to any starvation and eating disorder rumors. I think the press has been printing a lot of pictures of me from unflattering angles” - the 24-year-old designer told people magazine.

My friends see the pictures and they’re like, ‘Oh my god are you okay?’ And then they see me, and they’re like ‘Oh … ‘ It’s really not that interesting or true.” - people magazine

For now, we are just going to have to give this celebrity the benefit of the doubt. However, her legs are looking a but thin, but maybe it’s just good genetics. What do you think?

Post A Comment: Do you believe Nicky, is it just “a bad camera angle” or is there really a deeper issue?

Ricki Lake: How Did She Lose The Weight?

Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at 1:00 pm

 Ricki Lake.before&after

Ricki Lake has been struggling with her weight for years and to make matters worse, she’s been doing it in the spotlight. The 39 year old mother of two was 260 lbs. at her heaviest and now tips the scale at 120! She is finally starting to look like a Fitceleb more and more by the day, and OK! Magazine sat down with her to ask how she did it. Here’s what Ricki had to say:

“I don’t know why my body at this age has managed to be smaller than I’ve ever been, I’m on my own plan. I work out, and I’m on a food plan where I eat a certain amount of calories. I’ve been doing this since February 2007 so it’s not something new, but I’ve maintained it.”

Is Geri Halliwell Obsessed With Working Out!?!

Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at 12:00 pm

SpiceGirlsGeri35situp.jpgsitupbeforeshow

Geri Halliwell was photographed while having an impromptu workout session backstage before a recent performance. Does this mean that Geri is obsessed with working out? Not at all!! In fact, this FitCeleb has the right idea. Squeezing in a little extra exercise into your day can really increase your overall caloric burn. After all, besides celebrities, who has time to hit the gym for two hours a day! So here are a few easy ways to fit in a little extra exercise.

1. Exercise at the office:

Fidgeting in your chair is one way to burn a few extra calories while doing your work. Parking at the end of the lot and taking the stairs instead of the elevator is a standard suggestion. But how about doing a set of squats while washing your hands during a bathroom break? Or rear leg lifts while you’re waiting for that fax to go through? Stand or walk while on the phone. Take a walk during your lunch hour. - The Diet Channel

2. Exercise at home:

You can exercise while you cook to avoid engaging in an unwanted taste feasting. Do jumping jacks while the water is coming to a boil. Do some push-ups in-between stirring the food. Do rear leg lifts while washing the vegetables. Housework is a good source of exercise. Pushing a vacuum, washing windows, sweeping the floor, and mowing the lawn are practical ways to fit in exercise during your day. Have fun with it—you’ll burn more calories. Instead of just pushing that vacuum or broom, try dancing with it to your favorite songs. Run with your lawn mower to really work your lungs. - The Diet Channel

3. Exercise running errands:

Errand running does not have to put a damper on your cardio time. Do isometric exercises while standing in line or sitting in the car. Just tighten whatever body part you want to work and hold it for a few seconds (or longer, if you can manage it). Isometric movements can effectively tone your abdominals, rear end, thighs, triceps, chest—all the usual trouble spots. Plus, you can do them anywhere while still being discreet. - The Diet Channel

One thing that I’ve learned about celebrities is that many of them try to have some fun with their exercise choices, because in the end, it should always be about living an active lifestyle. So remember, if you can’t make it to the gym - no worries - just squeeze in a little more activity into your normal day. After all, every lit bit counts!

Ali Landry’s Post-Baby Bod

Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at 11:00 am

 Ali Landry.BookBash

Ali Landry is one hot mama! She must not have been eating those Doritos she was promoting because her body has always looked muy caliente! The 35 year old mama to 6 month old Estela spoke to OK! Magazine about her pregnancy and how she took care of her body post-baby and here’s what she had to say:

“I was craving fruits and vegetables. It was such a healthy pregnancy.”

She gained a total of 35 pounds and it is nearly all gone thanks to her dedication to her workout regimen.

“I thought once I had the baby I would run again. Two weeks after she was born, I got on the treadmill and I didn’t think about the nursing and the pain,” she says. “It hurt! I had to find something else. I went back to my trusty videos and started doing them — very low-impact.”

Ali now works out two days a week, down from five, is also following a diet, but doesn’t deprive herself of any treats.

“I love to eat. I’m from the South so I don’t really like to deprive myself of food. I will never turn down home-cooked Cajun food.”

She must be doing something right because she sure looks good!
