You may know Kelly LeBrock for her famous legs in the 80’s classic “The Woman in Red“, or you may also remember her from Celebrity Fit Club on VH1. OK! Magazine caught up with Ms. LeBrock at the Oscar party Night of 100 Stars and she was raging mad because a magazine implied she was fat.

“I’m not fat!” Kelly declared. “I don’t look like a 400-pound heifer! I’m going to keep eating. I eat normally. And I’ve had three kids.”

She added that actresses like herself:

“Have to be role models for all these young girls”

So they don’t become scary skinny.

The 47 year old mother of three lost a total of 31 pounds on Celebrity Fit Club, but she found that dieting just wasn’t for her.

“I didn’t eat for three months,” she explains. “It was dangerous. It was a really bad way to lose weight. I will never eat lettuce again!”

When OK! asked how much she weights now, Kelly says:

“I don’t weigh myself. If I can fit into a [size] ten/twelve, I’m happy.”

Gisele Bündchen seems to have a thing for athletes.  This 27 year-old super fit model is featured on the April cover of Vogue magazine’s shape issue, clinging onto Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James.  Do you think Tom Brady is jealous?  During an interview, Gisele shares her love of sports with the magazine explaining:

“What sports teaches you is not only respect for your body but that you have to be aware of your body, that you have to work with other people. If you feel good, you play better, and if you feel better your self-worth will increase every day.” - Gisele Bündchen

Banish Back to Back Workouts

Sunday, March 16th, 2008 at 7:17 am

Due to the pressure in Hollywood to be ultra fit, some celebrities spend hours in the gym 5 to 7 days a week. Often times, they’ve been known to take multiple classes back to back and exercise later in the day as well! In fact, I know plenty of non-celebs who take two classes in a row (I’m occasionally guilty of this myself). But is taking two high impact classes in a row healthy?

“No, it’s a shortcut to burnout,” says Keli Roberts, spokeswoman for the American Council on Exercise. Doubling up also may increase your risk of overuse injuries. ” - www.findarticles.com.

Experts believe a better way to increase the length of your cardio workouts is:

“to choose a different activity after your class, such as walking on the treadmill or using the elliptical trainer. Not only will you work different muscle groups, but you also can go at your own pace and control the length of your workout.” - www.findarticles.com.

In general, don’t assume that a longer workout leads to a better burn:

“Often, Roberts says, people who take back-to-back classes work out at a lower intensity than those who give it their all during a single class. “If you go hard in a Spinning class,” Roberts says, “one session is plenty.” - www.findarticles.com.

So there you have it, when you hit the gym or pop in an exercise video, give it your all for 45 minutes then relax and enjoy the rest of your day!

Post A Comment: Do you take two exercise classes in a row? Do you agree with Roberts’ advice?

FitCeleb Tip Of The Day: Fidget Your Way To Burn More Calories

Sunday, March 16th, 2008 at 6:05 am

fidgety

Fidget.  You can burn up to 700 calories a day!  Tap your toes, shift in your seat often, get up and walk around.  The more you do, the more calories you can burn.

I always thought fidgety people were always a little weird but I guess they were on to something.  Now that I think about it, most of them are pretty slim… :)
