The “Warrior Diet” definitely not your ordinary diet. Inspired by the Greco-Roman militaries, whose lifestyle kept them fit and healthy. The soldiers practiced eating during the day and feasting at night in order to obtain the statuesque physique that the Greeks and Romans idealized.
Ori Hofmekler, author and innovator of the “Warrior Diet.” The key to this diet consists of a daily cycle of under eating throughout the daytime and overeating at night. The idea is that you burn energy as you go through daily routine and your body replenishes itself while you sleep. By eating very little during the day you force your body to burn fat, and a high protein meal at dinner time gives you the building blocks to repair muscle tissue and vital nutrients.
The under eating phase of the warrior diet consists of small amounts of whole raw foods such as vegetables, nut and berries, as well as dairy products like yogurt. Hofmekler says these foods give you natural energy and prevent energy spikes and dips.
For over eating, Hofmekler has several rules. First, start with mild-tasting foods and move toward spicier ones later in the meal in order not to disrupt your natural hunger. Second, incorporate as many tastes, textures, colors and aromas as you can into your meal. Third, stop eating when you feel more thirsty than hungry.
What did I tell you this is not your ordinary diet. It’s not just a diet but a lifestyle change as well.
