Carnie Wilson: I Have Not Gained 79 Pounds!
Everyone knows the Carnie Wilson story by now and if you don’t, here you go. Nine years ago, Carnie (39) underwent gastric bypass surgery after she ballooned to 300 pounds. About 16 months after that procedure, she was down to 148 pounds. Carnie has always struggled with her weight, and gained much of it back when she was pregnant with her daughter Lola in 2005. As if that isn’t enough, she’s going through this battle in the public eye. Here is Carnie jogging on March 24, 2008 near her home in Los Angeles, California. Carnie is slamming the National Enquirer for claiming that she has gained 79 pounds and plans to have another gastric bypass. She spoke to Good Morning America on Thursday about how upset she is by this claim and here’s what she had to say:
“If I’m 205 today, that means I am up 70 pounds. 79 pounds is an outright lie. It is very hard being in the public eye, being scrutinized for every pound. A gastric bypass patient needs follow rules, I fell off the bandwagon when I was pregnant… my eating habits changed. For me, it was about snacking,” she added. “Somebody can consume a certain amount of calories, and if they don’t burn the calories, that equals weight gain.”

The National Enquirer stands by its story that Carnie is planning on having another surgery, but Carnie said she is losing pounds through rigid exercise.
“They’re saying I’m going to have liposuction, another gastric bypass to have a baby. It’s laughable”
Carnie said that her ideal weight is:
“Somewhere between 150 and 170.”
Carnie is just like the rest of us when she admits that exercising is not easy for her either:
“When I am on the treadmill, I am thinking about lunch.”
But Carnie (who wants another baby) said,
“I am committed to this, to my health, whether I am 300 or 200 or 150 [pounds].
Her weight, she said:
“Will always be a battle — surgery or no surgery.”
“I am committed to my daughter. I want to be a light of hope for her,” she added. “[I'm not saying] you need to be a size 6 … you need to be healthy. That is the message I want to give to her.”

70 lbs, 79 lbs whats the big deal, its not like an extra 9 lbs is an exageration on someone that big. She obviously has some mental issues as well. She needs to get a f**king grip and get over it. I would say the Enquirer made a pretty darn good guess.

March 28th, 2008 @ 4:24 pmI agree. She needs to focus on her health instead of responding to a tabloid report that’s not too far from the truth. *Newsflash* It’s apparent that she’s gained a ton (no pun intended) of weight lately and is trying to lose it.
