Madonna’s Trainer Tells Us How To Lose 20 Pounds In 6 Weeks

Madonna’s trainer, Tracy Anderson has worked out a plan that will allow you to lose 3-5 lbs a week, even though 2lbs a week is the doctor recommended formula. But, she says her method is perfectly healthy and even promises that you’ll keep the weight off.

Tracy gave UsWeekly 3 weeks worth of menus that you can follow strictly or mix and match for days. I did a few calculations and it looks like each menu only adds up to about 500-800 calories a day. No wonder she says you can lose so much every week. Combine those extremely low calorie meals with Tracy’s hardcore workout and you’ll get results like Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to keep up with a plan like that for longer than a week, so for me this wouldn’t be a very realistic way to go about slimming down. And although I’m not a doctor, I really don’t think going SO low-cal is all that healthy either. Such an extreme restriction can lead to an eating disorder.

What do you think?

500 calories a day?! How on earth is that considered healthy? Perhaps in very specific cases 500 calories a day would be acceptable but I cannot imagine making a blanket statement saying that’s fine!

That is the craziest s**t I’ve ever read. On one of the days, she has you eating 1 cup of vanilla nonfat rice milk and 1 poached egg for breakfast, 2 celery stalks with 2-4 tsp of almond butter for lunch, and a grilled chicken breast with 1/2 cup each of cucumber and tomatoes. THAT paltry amount of food is supposed to fuel your body enough to get you through a 2-hour workout???? IS THIS WOMAN ON CRACK?? Because the people who follow her diet sure are!

Last I checked, consuming only 500 cals a day was called starving yourself. I’m truly disgusted and appalled, and I cannot believe Us magazine printed her diet plan.

now we have confirmation that 90% of hollywood women are technically anorexic…they think they can fool us by saying they lose weight by “eating healthy” when in reality eating healthy means starving yourself. this is a sad little society we’ve created.

That certainly is extreme, and I doubt it’s truly a healthy plan for most people. But, in a way, it makes me feel better about dropping only a pound or so a week when I’m dieting — there’s no WAY I’m going to go as strict as that diet, so I think I’ll be happy with what I’m doing!

This IS close to anorexia, which is defined as eating less than 200 cals per day. It is definitely a menu for clinically disordered eating. It was totally irresponsible of the magazine to print this.

You’ll end up in the hospital doing this. Seriously! Calorie deprivation can cause prolonged health issues, especially in women.
