This is how you know you've made it REALLY big...when a sculptor decides his later work of art will be a $2.8 million dollar sculpture of your image! Kate Moss has been forever immortalized in a,
"nearly $2.8 million, 110-pound solid gold statue of the supermodel, hyped as the largest such creation built since ancient Egypt."
When asked for comment, the creator Marc Quinn said,
"I thought the next thing to do would be to make a sculpture of the person who's the ideal beauty of the moment," Quinn said of his fabulously excessive creation. "But even Kate Moss doesn't live up to the image."
That statue will soon go on display in a British museum right in there next to works of ancient Greek art! Check out a picture of the statue's face here.

We live in a very strange society.
she is so ugly! wtf????????????
I don't see what's so attractive about her either!
I would much rather see a golden sculpture of George Clooney. Naked.
Someone obviously has too much time and money on their hands. Melt the damn thing and donate the money to charity. I'm sure Kate will snort her way out of that.
Objectifying beauty is not a new concept, it never has been and it never will be. Look at the Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Modern statues and art etc. that were created for the purpose of capturing someone's beauty . Just like many of the issues that plague our society, this is not new or suprising, however I am always amazed at how old tricks get a makeover when new technology meets excessiveness.
Hopefully we get to see the full statue at some point. I'm intrigued. She's an amazingly beautiful woman, I bet she's pretty floored by the tribute? He probably wouldn't have gotten as much press attention if he had just done some ordinary woman. ;)
Very impressive. She must be ecstatic.
It's a sad day when a cultural institution with the standing of the British Museum, with all its priceless exhibits, feels it has to be involved in a publicity stunt involving modern day "celeb culture" in order to attract visitors...
SHES STUNNING, HER BONE FEATURES ARE AMAZING, AND HER BODY IS MADE FOR CLOTHES I LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF> This is not art,! a debased existence of hype, a model made to be a queen beauty. This just makes the poporatisy and the rest of the over zealous picturesque society o.k. No it i not OK. the contort of the figure is at least symbolic of the exposed and over wrought life of a once young pretty girl. Now old and haggard, from life style excess. NO grace no elegance no peace, just disgrace, and vainglorious.
