Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are back in Beverly Hills after a quiet Hawaiian vacation together. First order of business - shopping for Chanel!!Wonder what Nicole bought. We will see soon enough.

It must feel so unnatural to have the paparazzi following you. Do you hold hands or not when you are a couple? You know everything is going to be dissected once it hits the rags. I know so many celebrities say they just "ignore" the crowd, but HOW can you?

It must be so hard to buy something for a woman who already has everything she wants. There isn't a thing Nicole Richie couldn't purchase for herself if she really wanted to. Poor Joel Madden was left walking around in circles while deciding what he was going to place under their Christmas tree. 

"I have no clue right now what I’m getting her, but I think it’s going to have to be creative. She appreciates more of the creative rather than something like a diamond. She’s not really into diamonds."

Wonder what Nicole ended up with!

The couple’s 11-month old daughter, Harlow, didn't get any fancy presents either.

"Nicole is very organic, so (Harlow will) probably a lot of organic toys like wooden blocks."

A baby's first Christmas is so special even though they really don't know what's going on. It seems to get better with each passing year though. Natalie had a BLAST and Liam was into it because he saw his sister was excited. Lots of fun this time around. 

I'm in no rush for the teen Christmas though. I know how I was - everything my mother bought me was 'WRONG'. LOL!  Parents of older children, any horror stories you care to share?

Rocker and DCMA clothing designer Joel Madden isn't sure what he's giving girlfriend Nicole Richie for Christmas, but he knows what it won't be: diamonds.  He told E!'s Marc Malkin that Nicole isn't into them.

'I have no clue right now what I'm getting her, but I think it's going to have to be creative,' Madden told me earlier today. 'She appreciates more of the creative rather than something like a diamond. She's not really into diamonds."

Really!  I honestly would not have guessed that about Nicole.  You learn something new every day.

Although Joel isn't sure what he's going to get for Nicole, he has a better idea about baby Harlow's gifts.

'Nicole is very organic, so probably a lot of organic toys like wooden blocks,' Madden said. "

Am I the only one who doesn't know what organic toys are?  I honestly don't know.  If someone can enlighten me in the comments, I would appreciate it.  

Joel says they will enjoy a low-key Christmas in Los Angeles, and Joel has even declined deejay gigs for New Year's just to stay close to home.  He has his priorities in order!  Hopefully the couple will enjoy baby Harlow's first Christmas.

K-DCMA (K-Swiss x DCMA Collective) officially launched this past weekend! The launch included 2 in-store signings at Finish Line Los Cerritos and Northridge, along with an all-out private party at the DCMA Collective flagship store on Martel Avenue in Los Angeles. Attendees included Benji and Joel Madden, Nicole Ritchie, Tila Tequila and Audrina Patridge.

Anyone a fan of the brand? I haven't come across any pieces as of yet. 

While walking the red carpet, People Magazine caught up with Nicole Richie and asked her about the current rumor she is recording an album. The reality star says not right now...

"I do eventually [want to record an album], but right now I have a lot on my plate. I've really been working hard – going on auditions for acting, doing design for my line, and being a mom – so that pretty much takes up my days."

"Right now I'm reading scripts and really trying to take my work seriously."

So where did that whole Rihanna / Kelly Osbourne rumor came from? Nicole hasn't a clue. 

"That's not true. Although I think that Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne are very talented, that's completely false."

And so there we have it.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were photographed on their way to Red Organic to do a little grocery shopping in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon. Since having Harlow, Nicole has toned it all down and become more of a mom than anything else. She still attends some red carpet events and fund raising initiatives, but we typically see her at LAX or running errands. So different from two years ago!

This might all change soon enough (not in a negative way, in an exposure way) as Nicole is rumored to be working on a new album! The NY Daily News is reporting that she's enlisted the help of Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne for her first solo project. 

"Rihanna and Kelly (Osbourne) are coaching Nicole and giving her tips on how to perform."

Well, I guess there's a reason someone coined the term "frenemy," right?  Nicole Richie is reportedly telling her daughter's uncle (and her boyfriend, Joel Madden's, twin), Benji Madden, that he "deserves better" than Paris Hilton, her one-time BFF.

Paris' frenemy is 'thrilled that she's gone,' says a source. 'She never thought Paris was ever really into" Benji"

Perhaps Nicole's right.  Paris Hilton was apparently spotted having a "quiet dinner" at LA's Koi restaurant with her ex, Stavros Niarchos.

"She was trying to fly below the radar and left alone about 30 minutes later," says another source."

Paris Hilton.  Trying to fly below the radar.  Even for Star Magazine, that's quite an assertion. The whole story sounds very fishy to me.

However.

Do you think Nicole is right (assuming she's actually saying this)?  Is Benji better off with or without Paris?

Last night, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie hosted an evening for a great organization. The pair switched on the lights at UNICEF's 'Light The Night' Christmas lighting ceremony in Beverly Hills.

Love that blue on Nicole!

It's nice to see these two are still going strong. Nicole seems so at peace these days. You can almost forget her beginning in Hollywood. Goes to show you that anyone can change if they really want to.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were photographed arriving to a sushi restaurant in the San Fernando Valley yesterday afternoon. I don't know what it is about Nicole, but she always manages to look great in everything. She even makes a peasant top and jeans look  trendy. Maybe it's her hair that makes it all look very casual and cool.

I can't wait for Nicole to pick up a new network project. That episode of Chuck that she was in was great! Too bad she doesn't want to work more, because I bet someone would give Nicole her own series.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were spotted outside his DCMA store in West Hollywood yesterday grabbing lunch. Nicole has the most effortless fashion sense and for some reason she honestly pulls off just about anything. Her outfit here is super cute and reminds me of Kate Beckinsale's favorite outfit.
