Although nothing more seems to have happened since round 2 between rival singers (who were separated at birth?!) Lily Allen and Katy Perry, Lily is reportedly letting Katy know that she's ready to deliver the knock-out punch if Katy steps out of line.  Lily supposedly posted a warning to Katy on her Facebook page.

I have Katy Perry’s number, someone did me a favour.

'I’m just waiting for her to open her mouth one more time then it hits Facebook.' ”

Lily also reportedly joined two groups that were against Katy Perry.

I'm not sure I believe this one.  Katy hasn't said anything more, has she?

It's not much of a threat, either way; phone numbers can be changed in a couple of minutes.  And this certainly is at odds with Lily's recent assertion about having "grown up so much."

You have to read Travis McCoy's entire blog entry about breaking up with Katy Perry. Yes, it's in rhyme - a song if you will - but he really lets it all out. Here is the opening paragraph.

We fight every night, now that’s not kosher
I reminisce with bliss of when we was closer
And wake up to be greeted by an argument again
You act like you’re ten
So immature, I try to concentrate on a cure
And keep lookin’ at the front door
Thinkin’ if I were to evacuate

After two years together, it looks like this couple is done.  A few days ago, a source claimed that Katy was "crying and wailing" and screaming "Don't go!" to Travis as he departed from Mexico during their vacation. The singer's parents had to come in and pull her away from the Gym Class Hero band member. My guess is that's when the split occurred. She wasn't crying because she would miss him, Katy was crying because she knew it was over. 

I have a confession. I didn't like Katy Perry's first two songs (of her most recent album) when they hit the radio. In fact, it was a full blown protest in my house. Hubby wanted to listen, and I would threaten divorce.

I have officially changed my mind. This song is so NICE. What do you think about Thinking of You. And what about the video?

 

Well, that rumor lasted less than 24 hours. Katy Perry took to her blog to deny any engagement rumors, take a swing at the NY Daily News and wish everyone some holiday cheer.

NOT engaged! But thanks for the free press New York Daily News! You should fact check with the source before you spread world wide news like that.

Seriously, the celebrities themselves have to deal with crazy rumors all the time - but think about how their parents must feel!! Imagine all the moms out there hearing about these "life changes" through the radio or internet! 'What? My daughter is engaged? How come she didn't tell me?!'

After a while, I suppose they get numb to it.

According to New York Daily News, singer Travis McCoy proposed to fellow singer Katy Perry!  Travis reportedly proposed while the couple were on a trip to Paris.  And get this: he proposed by kissing her with "a massive ring" in his mouth. 

That's unique. 

If it's true, then congratulations to the couple!  They have been dating since 2005.

Well, this feels over. Yesterday I wrote a post about the rift between Katy Perry and Lily Allen which started over a rude comment Katy made about Lily's weight. Today, the 'I Kissed a Girl' singer said that is was all in good fun.

"Yeah, I made a joke about (that) earlier this year. I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn’t mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously."

Hopefully, Lily will read this quote and realize it wasn't intended to be mean spirited. Although, if the comment was directed towards me, I would have a hard time letting it go as weight is a touchy topic.

Will Lily take the olive branch?

Can't we all just get along?

First Katy Perry makes fun of Lily Allen's weight and then Lily responds by insulting her musical abilities. Let's make a very long story short by reading a quote from Lily herself.  

"I happen to know for a fact that she was an American version of me. She was signed by my label in America as, ‘We need to find something controversial and kooky like Lily Allen.’

And then they found her… I think the lyrics and stuff are a bit crass.

"When I met her I was a bit frosty with her because someone asked her to describe herself. She’s like, ‘Aha, I’m like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinner version of Lily Allen!’. It’s like, you’re not English and you don’t write your own songs, shut up!"

Ouch! Lily is responding to something she heard - but who knows if it's true! I hate when successful females go at one another in public. Who do you think is right in this case? 

 

In this week’s Page Six Magazine – Move over, Madonna.  Katy Perry is shaking up the pop charts with her controversial lyrics, unique style – and big (lipsticked) mouth.

On her own experiences kissing a girl:

“[I’ve done it] many times, in several different situations. I was living with my best friend for a while, and we were drunk and we made out.  I love a beautiful woman, I’m not afraid to say it.”

On her long distance relationship with boyfriend, Travis McCoy, singer for indie hip-hop band Gym Class Heroes:

“It’s definitely difficult.  I was really lonely for a couple of weeks, but that’s the name of the game.  To me, iChat is the most beautiful technology invented, ever!”

On her fashion sense:

“I’m definitely going to be on the worst-dressed lists, but I just want to have fun.  I don’t take my life too seriously.”

On her bold attitude and lyrics that have garnered controversy:

“As much as I am cheeky and full of opinions, essentially I know what I’m doing.  I don’t censor myself, but I do think about everything.  And I feel I’ve got a good head on my shoulders.”

Katy Perry is everywhere these days isn't she? Ever since a certain someone began singing her praises, her current career has skyrocketed to the moon. And while her previous attempts (think Christian gospel music) never hit it big, I Kissed a Girl was exactly what she needed to finally break through.

Recently, Katy confessed that she wrote "I Kissed a Girl" thinking about Scarlett Johansson.

"I was with my boyfriend at the time, and I said to him, 'I’m not going to lie: If Scarlett Johansson walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her. I hope you’re okay with that?'"

However, Holy Moly pointed out that Dr Luke, Max Martin and Cathy Dennis were the original writers of the song and Katy came in after it was created to add some of her flavor. I can't imagine the song originally being about going to the mall with friends and then after Katy it became about kissing a member of the same sex?

So did Katy "write" I Kissed a Girl as she claims while thinking of Scar Jo? Or was that statement just a neat little way to get more press as Scarlett is known for being one of our sexiest celebs?
