Tons of Nicole news today...we just had shots this morning of Ms. Richie in the perfect red peacoat.

Woohoo!  This is the PERFECT role for Nicole Richie.  She'll be making an appearance on the hit show Gossip Girl.  Sources say she's eyeing the part of a very snooty girl.

I'm not saying Nicole Richie is snooty, but isn't this what her book, The Truth About Diamonds, was about...basically a telling of a privileged and scandalous life in L.A.? Same concept, different scenery.

A source says,

"Nicole loves Gossip Girl and she wants a really b****y, juicy role."

Will Nicole's spot on the show have you tuning in if you don't already watch? And if you are a fan, are you excited to see how she does?

Nicole Richie looked adorable in a red pea coat and black skinny jeans while shopping in Beverly Hills yesterday afternoon. It's no secret that I love pretty much everything this girl owns and may or may not have secret dreams of playing in her closet.

I also find it fascinating that Nicole's key to success in Hollywood is simply having a great fashion style. Sure she got her start as Paris Hilton's friend, but she stays in the public eye because of what she wears.  Crazy.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are back in Beverly Hills after a quiet Hawaiian vacation together. First order of business - shopping for Chanel!!Wonder what Nicole bought. We will see soon enough.

It must feel so unnatural to have the paparazzi following you. Do you hold hands or not when you are a couple? You know everything is going to be dissected once it hits the rags. I know so many celebrities say they just "ignore" the crowd, but HOW can you?

Baby Harlow is celebrating her first birthday with some great news! Her mother and father have decided to try for another baby.  Star Magazine is reporting that Nicole Richie has convinced Joel Madden to go for child number two. She's got the itch! :)

I can SO relate. 

"Nicole simply told Joel that she wants another baby —right away. He was a little overwhelmed at first, but now he's with her 100 percent. They're both thrilled about adding to their family."

Nicole and Joel went through a "rough patch, but now things are amazing between them. Nicole knows it's because they're both so happy with Harlow, and she truly believes another baby will double their commitment."

In order to prepare for the pregnancy, Nicole has begun taking vitamins and even started to design maternity clothing to keep her fashionable during the transformation. 

We report that as their daughter Harlow gets ready to celebrate her first birthday, reformed party girl Nicole is taking vitamins, eating healthy and designing trendy maternity wear in preparation for her second pregnancy.

If they didnt' throw in the maternity clothing statement, I might have believed the story more.  Nicole wore spandex and shirts that stretched when she was pregnant with Harlow. She really kept to normal clothing and didn't dive into the maternity wear at all. So, I'm pretty sure she would do the same for number two. But HEY, you never know. 

It must be so hard to buy something for a woman who already has everything she wants. There isn't a thing Nicole Richie couldn't purchase for herself if she really wanted to. Poor Joel Madden was left walking around in circles while deciding what he was going to place under their Christmas tree. 

"I have no clue right now what I’m getting her, but I think it’s going to have to be creative. She appreciates more of the creative rather than something like a diamond. She’s not really into diamonds."

Wonder what Nicole ended up with!

The couple’s 11-month old daughter, Harlow, didn't get any fancy presents either.

"Nicole is very organic, so (Harlow will) probably a lot of organic toys like wooden blocks."

A baby's first Christmas is so special even though they really don't know what's going on. It seems to get better with each passing year though. Natalie had a BLAST and Liam was into it because he saw his sister was excited. Lots of fun this time around. 

I'm in no rush for the teen Christmas though. I know how I was - everything my mother bought me was 'WRONG'. LOL!  Parents of older children, any horror stories you care to share?

Rocker and DCMA clothing designer Joel Madden isn't sure what he's giving girlfriend Nicole Richie for Christmas, but he knows what it won't be: diamonds.  He told E!'s Marc Malkin that Nicole isn't into them.

'I have no clue right now what I'm getting her, but I think it's going to have to be creative,' Madden told me earlier today. 'She appreciates more of the creative rather than something like a diamond. She's not really into diamonds."

Really!  I honestly would not have guessed that about Nicole.  You learn something new every day.

Although Joel isn't sure what he's going to get for Nicole, he has a better idea about baby Harlow's gifts.

Am I the only one who doesn't know what organic toys are?  I honestly don't know.  If someone can enlighten me in the comments, I would appreciate it.  

Joel says they will enjoy a low-key Christmas in Los Angeles, and Joel has even declined deejay gigs for New Year's just to stay close to home.  He has his priorities in order!  Hopefully the couple will enjoy baby Harlow's first Christmas.

Kevin Connolly, Erika Christensen, Amy Smart, Leelee Sobieski, Lauren Conrad, Paris Hilton, Rumer Willis, Lisa Rinna, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden attended the D&G flagship boutique opening on Robertson Boulevard. The night benefitted the Art of Elysium - but it doesn't stop there.
