While I completely understand that this is in keeping with the times I am still so SAD for the audience members of Oprah's Favorite Things show. She normally gives out such amazing gifts, but this year the episode is going to only feature affordable items. An Oprah Winfrey Show rep says,
"They're some of Oprah's favorite things, but this time there's a twist...they cost next to nothing! On [Wednesday's] show, viewers reveal their creative ways to spend less over the holiday season. You'll meet a mom who shows us how to create a one-of-a-kind treasure that comes straight from the heart. Then, one family talks about their very own tradition that doesn’t cost a cent. You'll also hear some great ideas to make your holiday party memorable and affordable. And, Oprah unveils a special gift that won’t cost you a thing! Find out how to have the thriftiest holidays ever."
Honestly, I do find it a little ironic that one of the richest women in the world is doing a recession themed show. But I guess she's just showing how in touch she is with us normal folk. :)
Let's talk economy. Not to get you down or anything, but I'm curious, how has the recession affected you and your family this year? Will there be less toys under the Christmas tree? Are you coupon clipping to do your grocery shopping? Or is everything, for the most part, still normal wherever you are?
We've already read the interview from Vogue, but now you can see the video of Jennifer Aniston responding to the magazine's choice of cover and article coverage.
Oprah says Jennifer will forever be our favorite best friend next door and the actress thought that was a wonderful title to have claim on. I think Jen's finally accepted the public will always be very protective of her even if it's unwarranted - like in this case where she says the story is "a hundred years old".
It's not like we have to wait much longer for Oprah's cameo on 30 Rock! After all, it airs tomorrow. Here is your sneak peek of Miss Winfrey's guest appearance if you are someone who just can't wait.
Her episode airs tomorrow at 9:30 on NBC.

It's done and I can't wait to see it! Oprah Winfrey has shot her cameo for 30 Rock and everyone at NBC couldn't be happier.Â
NBC boss Teri Weinberg says,
"Oprah Winfrey’s presence on 30 Rock makes this episode a television event. She is a true legend in her own time, and in this comedy’s tradition, it provides the perfect showcase for stars of her renowned status. We are all thrilled."
Tina Fey added,
"Oprah is very funny in the episode, and we are beyond grateful to have her. Also, I would like to announce that we are officially best friends."
I always love to see big stars do small cameos in shows and watch the jump in ratings. I am sure the 4 trillion people that watch Oprah's talk show will tune in.Â

A high-end boutique is suing Oprah Winfrey's mother, Vernita Lee. The woman owes Valentina over $150,000!
According to the civil complaint (obtained by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel), Lee, a Milwaukee resident, has had an open-ended charge account with Valentina Inc. since January 2004.
As of July 1, she has racked up a bill of $155,547.31 in purchases and interest, according to the complaint. (Lee was required to make a minimum monthly payment of $2,000 to the store, the paper reports.) Valentina attorney Joseph Niebler, Sr., told the Sentinel that at some point Lee stopped making the monthly payments.
I wonder if Oprah is going to bail her mother out? I should hope so considering she earns $150,000 every nano second.Â
Lauren Conrad has been asked to be a presenter on the Emmy Award show. Not only that but the models who hand the awards to the actors and actresses will be wearing clothes from her line, as well as Beyonce's. Her agent did a great job managaging that deal!
Also, guess who's going to open the show...yes, the one and only Oprah!
It's still unclear what the talk-show queen will do, but she has agreed to be on stage for the first moments of the live telecast, a source says.
The show will be held on September 21st. I can't say I'll watch, but I'm most definitely excited for seeing the clothes that everyone wears. ;)

So many celebrities were in Italy over the weekend! Tony Parker and Eva Longoria caught some sun on a boat while visiting La Spezia. Oprah unwinded in Portofino walking the streets and taking a ride on the water. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony continued their long vacation also in Portofino, doing some shopping with Jen's sister and enjoying a lovely outdoor lunch with friends and family.
I went bowling with the kids... :)
