Could it be? Would Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt actually lie to us about something as important as marriage?!? Why, I'm SHOCKED. :P Mexico apparently has fairly strict marriage laws that require you to get paperwork notarized and bloodwork taken...meaning the whole thing couldn't happen within an hour of making the decision, as Heidi and Spencer claimed.

Americans who wish to get married in Mexico must first go through a process that takes about five days, according to Mexico's foreign relations department Web site. They must obtain a health certificate, including blood test results from a local doctor; and provide official translations of legal documents, such as birth certificates.

UsWeekly's Peter Grossman isn't denying the story that the wedding is fake either. He will only say,

"Heidi and Spencer are two people in love who had a beautiful wedding ceremony to celebrate that. The pictures and words in our issue this week bear that out."

Also, if you were hoping they'd show this on The Hills, you're in luck. A spokesperson for MTV added that he,

"wishes Heidi and Spencer the best and can't wait to share their special moment with 'The Hills' fans later this season."

Remember a while back when we read a blind item that definitely seemed like it was about Heidi and Spencer...it said they were going to have a fake wedding and then a fake pregnancy for publicity and $$$.

Is this seriously happening right now????

CAN THIS BE? Why would they miss out on all of the publicity a wedding would bring? Think about how many covers Heidi Montag just passed up. Bridal shower, wedding dress shopping, registering, the big day, the honeymoon - I mean come on! That is SO not Heidi and Spencer Pratt!!

People Magazine is reporting that the couple quietly eloped in Mexico last Thursday, Nov. 20.

Blowing my mind...

Update: In Touch has a quote from Stephanie Pratt about the elopement.

“I am not surprised! I knew they would, and Cabo is definitely where they would do it.” But Spencer’s little sister wants the couple to come back and celebrate here in the States. “I hope they come home, though. Spencer always has said he wants to live there.”

Man, these two are everywhere! Rumor has it that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are being considered to do a cameo on How I Met Your Mother. If both of them are gonig to appear, I would guess they're probably going to play themselves, but who knows. No rep confirmation just yet, but since HIMYM seems to enjoy casting high profile people a la Britney Spears, I wouldn't be surprised if this were true.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt served up tacos to hungry drive-thru patrons in a Los Angeles Taco Bell. The twosome have teamed up with Taco Bell in an effort to raise awarness of global hunger.

It's nice to see them using their celebrity and staged photo ops to create awareness for a good cause, rather than to promote themselves.
